White Water Rafting
22km raft ride along the Isere River from Bourg St Maurice to Aime.
This River has a world famous reputation for top level Kayakists. The brand new slalom course at Bourg- st - Maurice hosted the world canoe-kayak championships in 2004. Its source is at the Iseran mountain pass and it is alimented by the snow melt of the glaciers of the Vanoise National Park which turn it into a surging torrent. The river is controlled by the hydro-electric dam at Tignes which regulates the water releases between the beginning of may until the end of september.
The section between Bourg Saint Maurice and Centron offers an amazing variety of whitewater with the notorious Aime rapids in the middle of the trip followed by the stunning Pucelle Gorge and finishing with the Centron rapids.
The 22 km run between Bourg St Maurice and Centron contains rapid from class II to IV (European scale) and runs through the spectacular Virgin's Gorge.
The junior version of the trip is 10kms avoiding the bigger rapids.

A trip along the Doran River – Recommended for those who have tried rafting before ! : The River Doran meets the River Isere at Moutiers. It is faster flowing and trickier to navigate with its narrow river bed twisting under a magnificent canopy of trees. The crew needs to be efficent immediately over the 6 km descent of class IV and V rapids.
On all rafting trips you’ll be accompanied by an experienced guide.
We offer a BBQ lunch at the rafting base in Aime before or after the trip depending on whether you have the morning or afternoon session..
The Franceraft base is beside the Isere River at Aime and has on site changing facilities, a picnic/BBQ area, snack bar, children’s playground and a small lake. Franceraft also offer an excellent photograph and video service so you are able to purchase a momento of your trip.
