Summer Skiing & Snowboarding
If visiting the mountains is all about skiing for you, don’t let the summer stop you! Tignes is nicely placed below the Grande Motte glacier – France’s highest ski-able glacier making it possible to ski and snowboard at high altitude (3550m) all year round. The Glacier in Tignes is open through the summer from 21st June to 6th September between 8am and 2pm – leaving the afternoon free to enjoy other activities or relax in the sunshine.
Le Grande Motte Glacier Summer Ski Area
At an altitude of 3000m the summer ski area awaits you. Six ski lifts open up 20km of pistes, a 750m vertical drop and one of the most impressive snow parks in Europe. The snow park (750m by 250m) is a fantastic place for freestylers – and with graded jumps it’s not only for the pros! The glacier in summer is a top playground for real snow sports enthusiasts.
