Via Ferrata
Via ferrata - Literally means “iron paths”. The via ferrata first appeared in the Dolomites during the 1st World War in order to help the Italian troops cross mountainous regions.
Today new routes have been created to allow a form of rock climbing in total security, yet still keeping the thrills. Open to all levels.
Via ferrata is a mountain route which is equipped with fixed cables, stemples, ladders, and bridges. The use of these allows otherwise isolated routes to be joined to create longer routes which are accessible to people with a wide range of climbing abilities.
Walkers and climbers can follow via ferratas without needing to use their own ropes and belays, and without the risks associated with unprotected scrambling and climbing.
Just as with rock climbing, via ferrata offers different routes suited to every skill level. It’s a unique way to discover the pleasure of climbing!
In our activity packages we use the via ferrata route “Roc De Toviere” at La Daille, Val D’Isere. We’ll provide you with all the equipment you need and a member of our experienced staff will accompany you. We’ll even award you with a certificate after you’ve completed the climb!
